Wasson Elected Chairman of NACDS Board

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores elected Gregory Wasson, president and chief executive officer of Walgreen, chairman of its board of directors Monday to succeed Robert Loeffler, chief administrative officer of H-E-B.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores elected Gregory Wasson, president and chief executive officer of Walgreen, chairman of its board of directors Monday to succeed Robert Loeffler, chief administrative officer of H.E. Butt Grocery Co.

In addition, Bob Narveson, president and CEO of Thrifty White Pharmacy, was elected vice chairman, and John Standley, president and CEO of Rite Aid Corp., treasurer.

Five new board members were also elected: Anthony Caffentzis, general vice president, business management, retail of Good Neighbor Pharmacy; Mark Cosby, executive vice president of CVS Caremark Corp.; Mark Murray, president of Meijer, Inc.; Juan Ortiz, CEO of Navarro Discount Pharmacies; and Frank Scorpiniti, CEO of Rexall Pharma Plus. They will join the other 22 members of the NACDS board to develop NACDS’ policies and priorities.
