Retail media company Cooler Screens has hired Anand Muralidaran to serve as senior vice president, chief growth officer.

Muralidaran most recently served as head of global strategy and business development at AI chip manufacturer NVIDIA. In that role Muralidaran was tasked with “shaping AI solutions for global brands in the retail, consumer packaged goods, and quick-service restaurant sectors,” Cooler Screens said in a press release.

Cooler Screens said the hire underscores its commitment to its new AI-powered tech, CoolerX, which was released in January at the National Retail Federation’s Big Show convention in New York City.

The company said in January that CoolerX features a “first-of-its-kind in-store intent engine, which uses AI to analyze data gathered from consumer behavior, contextual signals, and first-party retailer data.”

“Just as search engines and e-commerce sites know what consumers are interested in when online and serve them relevant content, we now can do the same inside brick-and-mortar stores. By understanding shoppers' intent and activating marketing content that is most relevant to consumer experience, we drive sales growth for retailers and brands,” said Arsen Avakian, Cooler Screens co-founder and CEO, in a January statement.

Avakian said Muralidaran’s expertise in scaling AI products is vital to the company’s growth of its CoolerX technology.

“With Anand leading our business growth, we're accelerating the transformation of in-store experiences, driving value for consumers, retailers and brands,” Avakian said in the announcement.
