DoorDash has partnered with two Northern California grocers—Gus’s Community Market in San Francisco and New Leaf Community Markets in metro Santa Cruz, the San Francisco-based delivery service announced on Monday.

Family-owned Gus’s Community Market has operated in San Francisco for more than four decades and has five locations.

New Leaf runs six locations along the Central Coast, selling organic and seasonal produce, all-natural products, and body care and wellness supplements. In 2013, New Leaf became the first grocer in the state to achieve B Corp Certification, which is awarded to companies that meet a high standard of performance in areas of environmental sustainability, transparency and accountability.

DoorDash will now provide same-day delivery for both of the grocery chains, the company said in a statement.

“Millions of consumers shop in DoorDash’s convenience and grocery categories each month, and new consumers to the online grocery industry start with DoorDash more than any other platform. Providing local and regional grocers, like Gus’s and New Leaf, with the tools and technology they need to reach new and loyal customers stands as a high priority,” the company said in a press release.

Both grocers will be available through DoorDash’s premium service DashPass, which provides members free delivery from restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores.

DoorDash, which has been delivering for a decade, began offering grocery delivery in 2020.
