Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., a business of Emerson, will hold its next E360 Webinar live online and from booth #3404 at the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m.–noon EST.

Titled “Innovation in Refrigeration”, the webinar will be hosted by Dr. Rajan Rajendran, vice president of system innovation and sustainability for Emerson Climate Technologies. Widely recognized throughout the HVACR industry as an expert on the application and regulation of refrigerants, Rajendran will discuss the company’s new collaborative approach to innovation in the development of future refrigeration technologies.

“The problems we’re trying to solve as an industry are more complex than we’ve seen in the past,” Rajendran says. “While incremental innovations will continue to take place on an individual level, it will require the collaboration of all links in the refrigerated equipment value chain to make giant leaps forward. From OEMs, wholesalers and contractors to component manufacturers and our suppliers, we need everyone’s perspectives to find new and creative answers to these problems.”

In a time where incremental progress is insufficient for meeting the industry’s demands, Rajendran will discuss the critical role of innovation, starting with the areas of focus on which Emerson Climate Technologies is currently directing its efforts:

  • Addressing the problem of leak detection

  • Expanding the utilization of CO2- and R-290-based system technologies

  • Integrating Copeland Scroll compressors into self-contained systems and condensing units

Rajendran will also introduce the new Helix Innovation Center, a nearly 40,000-square-foot facility located in Dayton, Ohio. The Helix became operational in December and is meant to act as a global hub for HVACR industry education. Rajendran will discuss the facility’s potential to foster this collaborative approach through real-world industry module simulations and live learning labs.
