Meal Planning Tool Integrates Peapod Clicks

The Dinner Daily, the online meal-planning tool providing recipes built around weekly grocery store specials, has announced an integration with Ahold Delhaize’s Peapod online shopping service.
Customers of the Dinner Daily service can now click an “Order from Peapod” link for store pickup or delivery at stores that offer Peapod, including Stop & Shop, Giant, Martins and Peapod delivery areas in the Midwest.
Dinner Daily, based in Boston, addresses the “What’s for dinner?” question for busy families whose home meals tend to pivot based on weekly specials at supermarkets, founder Laurin Mills said. It provides customized weekly dinner menus that fit members’ personal food and dietary preferences.
The choices are based on an algorithm that also includes customer menu preferences, size of the family and other considerations, such as ensuring no one ingredient repeats too often and pairing main and side dishes that do not have conflicting oven-temperature requirements. The menu offerings are based on “mom-tested and dietitian-approved” recipes, influenced by internal software that scrapes pricing data from supermarket sales fliers.
“Having a plan for dinner makes all the difference, and having a plan made for just for you that saves you money is even better,” Mills said in a statement. “By teaming with Peapod, our members who shop at Stop & Shop, Giant, Martins or Peapod can literally receive their plan and have all of their groceries for the week ordered in less than five minutes, and at a total cost of less than half of meal kits, and with a lot less packaging.”
Dinner Daily is available for nearly 16,000 grocery stores in all 50 states. The service is also offered as a wellness benefit at a growing number of companies nationwide.
The program offers a variety of subscription options starting from $4 per month.
