RangeMe, the online platform for retail buyers to find branded goods, is adding a “verified” tier it said would make it easier for buyers to find brands that meet their standards.
The San Francisco-based product discovery platform said verified products would meet buyer criteria including high-quality images, insurance, barcodes, nutritional labels and other standards set by the retailer. Those products would be identified by a badge on the site and appear in the listings ahead of products that don’t meet those standards.
Since its U.S. launch in 2015, RangeMe has had more than 95,000 brands join its platform, and has established retail partnerships with Whole Foods Market, Target, Albertsons, Rite Aid, Sephora and more.
“Getting a product on store shelves can be a challenging task for both the buyer and the supplier, but it doesn’t have to be,” Nicky Jackson, founder and CEO of RangeMe, said in a statement. “By launching RangeMe Verified brands, we are defining a new industry measure for product sourcing as well as creating increased opportunities for both suppliers and buyers.”
Range me said verified listings would increase visibility to buyers by up to seven times over nonverified suppliers. Verified brands and products appear on buyers’ dashboards above nonverified brands, feature an eye-catching badge to stand out to buyers, and will show up in advanced searches where buyers can request to see only verified brands.
"In order to keep up with consumer demand and stay competitive in our industry's fastest-moving and most innovative category, we need the ability to onboard on-trend brands quickly and efficiently," said Sarah Groves, buyer for natural and organic foods at Southeastern Grocers, in a statement. "RangeMe verified brands help streamline our category review process by making it easy to identify high-quality manufacturers that are ready to do business now."
