ST. LOUIS — Scott Schnuck, chairman and chief executive officer of Schnuck Markets here, has personally addressed the retailer’s payment-card security breach.
In a video message posted on schnucks.com, Schnuck states that customers can still depend on the retailer, as they have for the past seven decades.
“I sincerely apologize by the inconvenience caused by the cyber attack on our card-payment system,” he said.
As reported, more than 1 million Schnuck customers may have had their payment-card information stolen. The payment-card breach was found and contained on March 30.
Schuck has recommended that customers cancel cards issued before March 30, and obtain new ones.
“You can use your new cards with confidence in our stores,” he said.
