A 20-SKU basket shopped for via the click-and-collect service at a Piggly Wiggly in Myrtle Beach, S.C., was less expensive than the same basket purchased for store pickup at a Lowes Foods store about 11 miles away in Murrells Inlet, S.C., during two weeks of a three-week collection period.
Factoring into basket totals are a $4.95 Lowes Foods service charge and a $5 Piggly Wiggly service charge.
