Shipt, Target Corp.’s same-day online grocery delivery arm, has begun offering digital coupons for groceries and household products through its website and app under a partnership with digital media firm Quotient.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Quotient said Wednesday Shipt for the first time will now be able to provide national manufacturer coupons from such consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands as Bayer HealthCare, Kimberly-Clark, Colgate-Palmolive, and Johnson & Johnson.

To access the coupons, Shipt users log into their account and select the retailer they want to shop. Relevant coupons are presented they browse the products they need, and coupons appear for applicable items on product pages. Once selected, coupons are redeemed when items are purchased and delivered by a Shipt  personal shopper.

Quotient delivers the digital coupons via its Quotient Promotions Network, which serves grocery, drug, mass, and club stores nationwide. The company said Shipt users soon will also have the ability to “clip” coupons in the app’s Savings Tab and redeem them later on at checkout. That feature is slated to be live in mid-May.

Shipt currently provides same-day delivery services to a network of more than 90 retailers in over 5,000 U.S. cities. Quotient reported that Shipt has seen a surge in app downloads and added 80,000 new personal shoppers during the coronavirus pandemic.

What’s more, digital coupon usage is on the upswing. Inmar Intelligence said Wednesday that enrollment in digital coupon programs across the top 30% of national grocery chains has grown 93% year over year since March 1, while digital coupon redemption in March rose 56.5% industrywide.
