CONCORD, Mass. — Welch's here has selected Retail Solutions, Mountain View, Calif., to create value from downstream data provided by Meijer and Target — such as point-of-sale and inventory data by day, by store and by product.

"We believe that we have a significant role in driving a better execution at retail in partnership with our customers," said Gregg Malatesta, director, sales, planning and innovation, Welch's, in a statement. "Downstream data gives us the opportunity to really understand on which stores, which items and which events we should focus."

Welch's will start its project at Meijer and Target, focusing on monitoring new product introductions, improving the planning and execution of its promotions, and reducing exit inventories at the end of events. Retail Solutions' system is offered via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
