DAYTON, Ohio — Tickets to Dorothy Lane Market’s four-week cancer prevention and survival cooking class have sold out.

The Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class, which runs every Tuesday from Sept. 29 to Oct. 20, will be hosted by Robin Gentry McGee a former restaurant owner and cancer survivor.

The classes are based on
the research of Neal Barnard, a medical doctor who promotes surviving cancer through a plant-based diet. Barnard is the founder of The Cancer Project.

Topics include “How Foods Fight Cancer”
and “Cancer-Fighting Compounds and Healthy Weight Control.”

Each class includes a nutrition video followed by a cooking demonstration and sampling of the food prepared. Classes are open to cancer survivors, friends, family or anyone interested in cancer prevention and healthy eating.

Attendees will receive a loaner copy of “The Cancer Survivor’s Guide,” which has nutrition information and 100 pages of recipes. These books will be available for use throughout the class series and returned after the series has ended.
