SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Hiller’s Markets is hosting a free health tour for cancer patients that will feature dietary advice for both during and after treatment.

Participants on Tuesday, Oct. 26, will learn from oncologist Dr. Adil Akhtar and oncology dietitian Deb Martz about coping with symptoms like loss of appetite and nausea, and how to choose the most nutrient-rich and energizing foods.

“I spend a long time with my patients, talking about diagnosis, treatment and side effects of treatment, and I especially emphasize the importance of nutrition,” Akhtar said in a prepared statement. “I think Hiller’s nutritional tour will be a big contribution for patients.”

The tour is the latest in a series at Hiller's including such themes as nut-free allergies, baby nutrition and high blood pressure.
