NEW YORK — Lifeclinic International, Burtonsville, Md., and News America Marketing here, a division of News Corp., said yesterday they have signed a two-year agreement for News America to bring its field merchandising services to 20,000 stores in Lifeclinic’s network of health stations. Lifeclinic stations, which offer free blood pressure testing and include advertising, are typically located near pharmacies. News America Marketing’s field force will be responsible for refreshing and updating the materials at each station, verifying that the systems are working properly, recording usage data and cleaning the units. “We already share common retailers, such as Kroger, Safeway, Rite Aid and CVS, so the Lifeclinic partnership is an excellent fit,” said Mel Liebergall, executive vice president, News America Marketing. Among other chains with Lifeclinic stations are Supervalu, Ahold, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Kmart, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club.
