Optimum Nutrition (ON), makers of Gold Standard 100% Whey protein, debuted the newest addition to its Gold Standard line of sports nutrition products – Gold Standard BCAA. Each serving of the powder contains five grams of BCAAs to help kick-start protein synthesis, along with a blend of electrolytes, rhodiola and Wellmune to support intense workouts.

"With each product added to the Gold Standard line, Optimum Nutrition sets a new bar for performance sports nutrition," says Saverio Spontella, director of North America marketing for Optimum Nutrition. "Athletes choose ON for products that go beyond the basics, delivering unique formulations that help them stay in the game and get the most from their workouts. No other product has the combination of BCAA's, electrolytes and support for endurance and immunity that athletes get in Gold Standard BCAA."

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard BCAA is intended for consumption during training, as taking in BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) during a workout can help spare muscle tissue from excessive breakdown, company officials say.  Electrolytes work to replace essential minerals and support performance, while extract from the herb rhodiola helps promote endurance. Patented ingredient, Wellmune, supports immunity, helping athletes maintain a rigorous training schedule.

Optimum Nutrition formulated Gold Standard BCAA to be highly drinkable for steady sipping throughout extended training sessions. It contains only ten calories per one-scoop serving and comes in four light, fruit flavors – Watermelon, Fruit Punch, Cranberry Lemonade and Strawberry Kiwi. Gold Standard BCAA is banned substance tested.

Gold Standard BCAA is now available wherever Optimum Nutrition products are sold, including specialty sports nutrition retailers, gyms and online.
