PHOENIX — Sunflower Farmers Market held a “Backyard BBQ” at its North Phoenix location on April 30.
The event gave customers an opportunity to try a healthy grilled lunch. The grilled chicken sandwich cost $1, or $2 with gluten-free chips and a drink. The event proceeds benefited the Boys & Girls Club of Phoenix.
Rachel Korellis (pictured right), event coordinator at Sunflower, approximated that 50 to 70 people stopped by for the two-hour event, and said she tries to put together monthly barbecue events.
In addition to supporting a charity, Korellis said the barbecue was a “great way to showcase our products, and give people a chance to have lunch before or after grocery shopping.”
