What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a part of Van’s Kitchen is providing high-quality egg rolls that families can share and that bring people together at the dinner table. Another is providing opportunities to our “roll models” (employees) so they can conquer challenges and fulfill their dreams. At Van’s Kitchen, we believe there is room at the table for everyone, no matter your gender, nationality, age or class. I wouldn’t be able to do my job without each and every roll model’s collaborative work and support, and I truly appreciate everything they do.
What inspires your leadership approach?
The support I have received from Carl Motter and Theresa Motter (Van’s Kitchen chief sales officer and CEO, respectively) has inspired my own leadership style. They lead our company with grace, humility and love—which are the exact qualities I strive to embody as a leader.
What do you value most about being a part of the grocery business?
The grocery business is so much more than selling and offering food to consumers, it’s about feeding families and offering a quality product people can feel good about eating and serving. This past year, the grocery industry and the manufacturers who support it have worked overtime to provide people with necessities. It’s rewarding to be part of a community that has had such a hand in keeping the country fed during a difficult time.
Favorite food: Egg rolls, of course—and steak!
