Pathmark Names Executive VP
hmark Stores here has named Neill F. Crowley executive vice president of merchandising, a new position. Crowley was executive vice president of store support at Vons Cos., Arcadia, Calif., until his position was eliminated in late April. He reports to Jack Futterman, chairman and chief executive officer. Reporting to Crowley will be Ron Rallo, senior vice president of merchandising; Paul Stanton, vice president of nonfood merchandising, and Herb Donahue, vice president of drug stores. Stanton and Donahue formerly reported to Rallo, and Rallo formerly reported to Futterman.
Bashas' Taps 5 Senior VPs, 8 VPs
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Bashas' Markets here has appointed five vice presidents to the level of senior vice president and eight directors to the level of vice president. All are new positions, and no successors will be named to any of the former posts. Named senior vice presidents were Charles Abraham, senior vice president of grocery procurement; A.N. (Johnny) Basha, senior vice president of real estate and development; Edward (Sonny) Felix, senior vice president of warehousing and distribution; Alfred Felix, senior vice president of human resources, and William Romley Sr., senior vice president of produce and frozen foods. All report to Wayne C. Manning, president. Former directors that have been named vice presidents are James Buhr, vice president, controller; Charlene Clem, vice president of member benefits; Albert Felix, vice president of sales and marketing; Patricia Fulks, vice president of labor relations; Richard Goeselin, vice president of meat operations; Barbara Jefferson, vice president of finance; Jeffrey Manning, vice president of general merchandise, and Paul Quintana, vice president of retail operations.
Supervalu Appoints Two to New Posts
MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here has named Lorraine K. Lucas director of executive and management staffing and Thomas L. Bird director of business succession and estate planning. Both are new positions.
Lucas, who was an independent human resorces consultant, will be responsible for management of executive and mid-management staffing, internal searches, relocation and college recruiting. She reports to John B. Berquam, director of corporate staffing and development. Bird will advise retailers on the structure and transfer of business interests and the development and implementation of tax strategies -- a role he has played since joining Supervalu in 1991..
Previously, Bird did not have a formal title. Bird will report to Isaiah Harris, vice president and corporate controller.
VP of Real Estate Is Named at Bi-Lo
MAULDIN, S.C. -- Bi-Lo here has named Nelson Trimmer vice president of real estate, a new position.
He is responsible for overseeing company properties as well as new purchases and leases. Trimmer was director of real estate. He reports to James Toopes, executive vice president of finance and administration of the 195-store chain. Bi-Lo is a division of Netherlands-based Ahold..
