CARLISLE, Pa. — Giant Food Stores and its Martin’s sister banner said Tuesday they have launched their first applications for iPhone and Android mobile devices.

The apps sync with a customer’s BonusCard to allow access to allow shoppers to check point totals and view personalized savings offers. Customers can also view a shopping list created on the chain’s website, download ad circulars and get directions to stores.

“More customers are relying on the convenience that technology can offer and we are committed to bringing that innovation to our customers and to our stores,” said Rick Herring, president, Giant Food Stores. “The launch of a mobile app is a natural extension to the suite of technologies we currently offer in store. We also look forward to enhancing the capabilities of the Giant app in the coming months to better serve our customers’ needs.”

Giant-Carlisle sister chains Giant-Landover and Stop & Shop, also owned by Amsterdam-based Ahold, rolled out mobile apps last year.
