COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., and Supervalu's Central Region, here, are offering consumers an education-oriented promotion that features computer software, a Dell computer for the grand prize winner, and a second one to be donated to the school of that person's choice. Kraft and Supervalu will also provide $250 Back-to-School gift certificates to winners in each of Supervalu's 13 retail zones.

The 300 stores began advertising the promotion in the Labor Day weekend ad, and it runs until Sept. 22. This offer applies to the Supervalu stores in the Cincinnati, Xenia and Dayton, Ohio markets, and the Fort Wayne, Ind., markets.

"Obviously, we are often afforded opportunities to work with manufacturers. In a case like this, it benefits our consumers and the schools themselves," said Ray West, communications manager for Supervalu's Central Region.

During this campaign, consumers can receive free Brighter Child interactive "Garfield" software by mailing in a registration form, available at the stores, along with three proof-of-purchase labels from a Kraft Foods product.

In addition, consumers can register to win the Dell computer.
