Kroger Co. banners across the country will feature Mexican foods and dishes across fresh departments during three weeks of events this June.
Savor World Flavor: Taste of Mexico will include new product selections, cooking demonstrations and food sampling June 1-22. Events will vary by location, but examples include guacamole sampling in the produce department, shrimp ceviche in seafood, and ready-to-eat meal solutions like chicken enchiladas rancheros and Sonoran chicken pasta.
Kroger’s stores with Starbucks cafes will feature a Horchata Frappucino for a limited time.
“Savor World Flavor is about re-igniting our customers’ passion for food through the authentic tastes and cuisines of world cultures,” Michael Donnelly, Kroger's VP of merchandising, said in a press release. “Carefully selected foods and recipes will create a unique fiesta for the senses in our stores during Taste of Mexico — and provide exciting and easy new options to help solve the daily question, ‘what's for dinner?’”
In center store, Kroger will feature Mexican brands and products like Paletas (ice pops made from fruit), Crema Mexicana (buttery-rich table cream for entree toppings), Mexican Coke (sweetened with cane sugar), Cajeta Coronado (caramel topping made from goat's milk) and Arcoiris Cookies (marshmallow and vanilla stacked cookies).
Customers can visit www.experiencesavorworldflavor.com to look up dates and times of local events, as well as find recipes and enter to win coupons and prizes.
