In Amsterdam, N.Y., Wal-Mart and Kmart maintained lower deodorant prices compared with neighboring stores operated by Price Chopper, Hannaford Bros. and Fay's Drug. SN took a list of the top 10 deodorant brands for the year ended Sept. 10, 1994, according to Nielsen North America, and checked the retailers' prices on one stockkeeping unit from each of those brands to compile the market study.
