PLEASANTON, Calif. — A disturbing undercover video filmed by animal-rights group Mercy for Animals at an Iowa Select Farms pork production facility has led Kroger and Safeway to demand action from JBS Swift, according to a report by ABC News.

Iowa Select Farms is one of JBS Swift’s suppliers. Kroger has ordered JBS Swift to stop supplying Kroger with product produced at the Kamrar, Iowa facility featured in the video, while Safeway has halted all purchases from JBS Swift, pending an investigation of Iowa Select Farms.

Nathan Runkle, the executive director of Mercy for Animals, told ABC that the facility was selected at random, and that the group plans future undercover investigations.
