In this week’s recap of the Top 10 most popular Supermarket News articles, the top story was Rite Aid, CVS face lawsuits for misleading shoppers. A lawsuit was filed recently in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York accusing the pharmacy of misleading consumers about the health benefits of its its Oral Care Dry Mouth Discs, according to “Top Class Actions,” a website that follows class action lawsuits. The suit notes independent testing that shows the discs have a pH of 5.1, making them highly acidic.

In other news, Costco Wholesale, which is headquartered in Issaquah, Wash., posted a sales increase of 2% year-over-year, with revenue hitting $53.65 billion. However, these gains still missed analysts’ expectations of $54.58 billion, as discussed on its latest earnings call. Consumer spending on bulk items slowing in the face of elevated inflation and an uncertain job market are a couple of reasons cited for the miss, according to The Street.
