BOULDER, Colo. — Sunflower Farmers Market here said it would open a new store in Longmont, Colo., later this year.
The 25,000-square-foot market will take over the former Borders Bookstore space in the St. Vrain shopping center, and will feature natural and organic offerings the company said would appeal to “health-conscious, budget-savvy” shoppers.
Sunflower earlier this year agreed to be acquired by Sprouts Farmers Markets but that deal is not complete yet.
The company currently operates 36 stores in eight states, including 12 in Colorado. It previously announced it would open a new store in Grand Junction, Colo., later this year and in Denver early in 2013.
