ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Juicing, as described on the official blog of Wegmans Food Markets, sounds like an adventure as well as a healthful thing to do. Patty Middleton, Wegmans' category merchant, GM for food, recently pitched home juicing and promoted the fresh squeezed juices available in Wegmans' produce departments.

"By doing some experimenting, my juice blends combine colorful produce in refreshingly wonderful, nutritious drinks!" Middleton writes, on the Rochester, N.Y.-based chain’s Fresh Stories blog site. "I love green juices with spinach, pineapple, berries and citrus blends. Want to start your day with the kind of energy boost that you only get from fresh juice? In case you’re thinking it’s too much work, I have found three ways that fit most anyone’s schedule and skills."

Drinking their daily fruits and vegetables is a quick way for busy people to get the recommended servings per day, but what’s the easiest way? Middleton describes a manual juicer and an electric one she says are easy to use. She also encourages readers to get their juice already squeezed and bottled in Wegmans’ produce departments.

"You can count on fresh squeezed orange juice in our produce department," Middleton blogs. "Recently at our Pittsford [N.Y.] store, we’ve begun experimenting with juicing for some inspired flavor combinations. My favorite is the Green Glory juice (made with spinach, pineapple, celery, and wheatgrass) There are even super healthful Wheatgrass shots!"
