ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets hopes to inspire consumers and employees to eat healthy and stay fit with its Eat Well Live Well Kick Off Events.
Scheduled for tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the chainwide effort will focus on messages like striving for five cups of fruits and vegetables, and feature blood pressure checks and tips on exercising, calorie counting and measuring progress.
“Every year around this time we challenge employees and customers to focus on healthier, better living,” says Wegmans on its site. “As you shop, stop by the various stations for great ideas and samples.”
Whole wheat bread topped with almond butter and Wegmans-brand Jammin organic fruit spread; pan-seared salmon with puttanesca sauce; and home-style waffles topped with blueberries will be among the items sampled.
