When general merchandise manager Bea Goldberg joined Jungle Jims 10 years ago to revamp the section, she cut celebrity chef cooking lines from Mario Batali, Rachael Ray, Tyler Florence and Emeril Lagasse because she thought they lacked quality. Today Goldberg sources products that arent carried by nearby Kohls, Wal-Mart and Target stores. Merchandising the section to complement the retailers state of the art cooking school sets us apart from everybody else, she said.Photo By Ashley Kroninger

FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Both of Jungle Jim’s International Market’s 5,000-square-foot “Gourmet Galeria” housewares departments merchandise about 1,500 kitchen gadgets and the same upscale brands as high-end Williams-Sonoma. With brands like All-Clad, Swiss Diamond and Fissler, the two-store independent’s staffed Galerias cater to students of the on-site Cooking School at Jungle Jim’s here, professional chefs and everyday gourmets.
