Walgreens Expands DVD Kiosks

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens will install Redbox automated DVD rental kiosks in approximately 1,800 stores nationwide during 2008 and 2009. The retailer currently has the kiosks in 250 store locations. The expansion follows a successful test of the automated $1 per night DVD rental kiosks in Chicago, Houston, Phoenix and Columbus, Ohio-area Walgreens stores, Redbox Automated Retail, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., announced yesterday. Redbox recently announced plans for placement in the majority of Wal-Mart locations nationwide.
