SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Martin‘s Super Markets here, which operates 20 stores, last week installed kiosks from Healthnotes, Portland, Ore., in four stores, following a test in a new store opened last fall. Each of the four stores was equipped with two kiosks, one in the produce department and one in the meat/seafood or wine department, said Amy Simeri McClellan, market research supervisor at Martin‘s. The kiosks offer recipes and cooking tips with an emphasis on healthy eating for a range of products found in these departments. The produce kiosk has been especially popular. “There are so many produce items,” she told SN. “Healthnotes does a super job of explaining how to use them.” The kiosks are averaging 400 unique users and 1,200 to 1,500 unique page views per month. -- Michael Garry
