NEW YORK -- Pricer, a Swedish manufacturer of electronic shelf labels, is unveiling a Dot Matrix ESL at the 2007 National Retail Federation Show here this week. The Dot Matrix ESL, which electronically displays the pricing of each product, is the first U.S. adaptation and application of dot-matrix technology to retail shelf display, according to Pricer. It can display everything from brand logos and feature/benefit bullet points to bar codes and time-based promotional messages, along with price. Retailers can also use the technology to track information such as stock levels, last order dates, shipment quantities and planogram facings, Pricer said.
