WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Lowes Foods has partnered with eco-friendly personality Terri Bennett for a new green-living initiative. Bennett is featured in green-living videos posted each week on www.lowesfoods.com.

One of the first videos focused on the multiple uses of vinegar as a nontoxic cleaning solution. Another video showed Bennett using the Lowes Food-brand baking soda for a variety of cleaning uses.

“When cleaning home, there’s no need to reach for toxic cleaners,” Bennett said.

Baking soda is an effective and inexpensive cleaner that works well on most stains in the kitchen because it doesn’t scratch, Bennett said. It also can be used to clean bathroom toilets and sinks, as well as a carpet deodorizer.
