Shaw’s Completes Solar Installation
WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Shaw’s Supermarkets has completed the installation of solar panels on the roof of a Webster, Mass., store, the retailer said in a joint statement with the building’s owner, Equity One.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Shaw’s Supermarkets has completed the installation of solar panels on the roof of a Webster, Mass., store, the retailer said in a joint statement with the building’s owner, Equity One.
The project marks the first of four anticipated solar energy projects between Equity One and Supervalu, Shaw’s Minneapolis-based owner.
The array includes approximately 750 solar panels that generate approximately 226,000 kilowatt hours of of solar energy each year. The project is estimated to reduce 123 tons of carbon emissions per year, equivalent to removing 50 cars and light trucks from the road or planting 70 acres of forest each year.
“Shaw’s is committed to environmental stewardship and we are pleased to have worked with Equity One on the installation and activation of these solar panels at our store,” Larry Wahlstrom, president of Shaw’s, said in a statement.
