What’s the best part of your job?
There are many, many things about my role that I enjoy, but if I had to choose one, it would be the broad scope of my customer responsibilities. At Shurtape Technologies, I interact with customers in different channels, regions and countries on any given day; and this customer diversity provides great visibility into the innovation and creativity occurring in our industry. I am able to leverage these insights and provide my team and the customers we serve with solutions to challenges that have been tackled by peers in different sectors. I am also able to share retail strategies that have proven successful.
What inspires your leadership approach?
From the start of my career, I have followed the tenets of servant leadership when working with my team and customers. During my career with Shurtape Technologies these principles became even more ingrained in my leadership style as it is one of the foundations of our company culture. I do my best to live the standards of servant leadership both in my professional and personal life.
What do you cherish most about being a part of the industry?
I have been blessed to work with amazing people from both the retailer/wholesalers, vendor community and within my company. These interactions have given me and my family the opportunity to establish friendships that transcend the workplace. I also cherish the great mentors that I had throughout my career. Their guidance and support enabled me to grow and develop as a leader and as a human. Last, I cherish that, after three decades in this industry, I still am learning something new every day, and have the opportunity to mentor emerging leaders in our industry and to help them become our next generation of innovators.
