Gallery: Bashas’ Food City stores get revamped

Bashas’, Chandler, Ariz., opened a remodeled Food City on Sept. 10 — a 42,000-square-foot store in the heart of Phoenix. Bashas’ operates 47 Hispanic-format locations under the Food City banner and has remodeled seven this year, with three more scheduled before the end of 2014. At the Phoenix store the chain added a full-service tortilleria; a from-scratch Mexican bakery; a specialty carniceria (meat department) featuring marinated cuts of meat and free marinades; and a more festive décor package. It also expanded the store’s restaurant-style delicatessen and enlarged the produce area.
