PITTSFIELD, N.Y. — Services are scheduled here Tuesday for James W. Wegman, who helped his late brother Robert grow their father’s vegetable business into the eponymous supermarket chain.
James Wegman, who served as vice chairman of Wegmans Food Markets until retiring in 1982, died July 4 at age 87 in Naples, Fla.
Robert died in 2006. Their father and uncle had founded the business in 1930.
